Let me start off by saying ‘YAY!!! I’m free from work!’. It’s so exciting to finally be able to dedicate my full week to illustration. I have so many projects I’d like to start and can’t wait for my first full week of freedom & fun!

On another note, this week’s Illustration Friday topic is Seed. (Click here to rate this illustration) This topic incidentally coincides perfectly with my big announcement! I’m three months pregnant! This is part of the reason I wanted to quit my full time job - so I can take care of myself during this important time. I have a little Easter gift for all of you! I’ve decided to allow you to use my illustrations in your blog banners! That’s right, all of you that once asked permission - the answer is now yes! I’ve thought long and hard about it and decided that I don’t really see any harm in doing so. I’m flattered that many of you want to use them, and I understand the need to keep your blog looking fun and fresh. So feel free to browse my sketchbook images and use any illustration you want! I’d like to clarify that I am giving you all permission but in other cases, it’s important to ask any artist to use their personal work in such a way. Arrggg where is spring?? Where is the sun? If you live anywhere in Ontario or even Canada in general, you know what a horribly long, cold, icy, grey, miserable, snowy winter we’ve had! This is my first full winter in Ottawa and it’s been scary to say the least. I’m originally from the east coast (Halifax, NS) where the weather is much more mild. I was never one of those people who hated winter and snow but I’m slowly becoming one! I love the snow around Christmas. It’s so much fun and creates such a beautiful atmosphere. After Christmas, the snow should disappear! hehe… Anyway, enough of this ramble :o)

Lately I’ve been drawing a lot of pretty summer images to brighten the cold, grey, snowy days. This curious little kitty is enjoying a warm sunny day in the garden.

Ahhhh I can picture myself there right now…
