Children’s Birthday Cards

Published in: Illustration, Portfolio

Here are a couple card samples I sent to a card company. I’m still working with this company to come up with a children’s birthday collection but these two didn’t make the cut! I just thought I’d share them with you because they didn’t want to be filed away without seeing the light of day!

I’ve been working on a number of projects and ideas for upcoming work so I’m hoping to share as much as possible with you. Most of the good/accepted work can’t be seen until it’s been produced but I’m always happy to share my process or rejected work! ;0)

  14. WTH!!! These are absolutely adorable!! What card company is this??!! We all need to write them a letter telling them that they need to accept ALL of your illustrations!! They are ALL totally incredible and I would buy them in 2 seconds, and I haven’t bought a card in 12 years!! (Since I joined Stampin’ Up!) I LOVE all of your work so please don’t be discouraged. I know everyone that reads your blog just LOVES your work. I know, I’ve talked to quite a few of the ladies that visit here!! Thanks again Rachelle, for your wonderful talent and for sharing with us. Oh, one quick question…Do you ever think you might do Milo in a Sailor outfit, maybe a peacoat and hat, holding a sailboat or a lifepreserver or anything like that? I’m a total nautical person and I would love to see a stamp like that. Thanks again!

  15. Thanks for sharing!
Personally I think they would be great for kids cards.

So Now you have to get them produced into rubber stamps! They are too gorgeous not to.

  16. Hehe thanks for all your great comments! Don’t worry, I’m not too discouraged just yet! The company gave me some great feedback on the designs and they just want to potentially bring the collection in a different direction.

I’ll definitely look into turning these into stamps though! That’s a great idea. In the meantime, the cards aren’t completely going to waste – I’ve added them to my Imagekind gallery, so if anyone wants, they can purchase them there :o)
