Illustration Friday: Influence

The weather can often influence your mood!
This illustration works well for this week’s Illustration Friday theme of ‘influence’. This piece is a lot moodier than my typical work but I really enjoyed the change of pace. I often create fun, bubbly, colourful art for children but it’s interesting to somewhat deviate and create something a bit different. My style is still very evident here but the colour palette and subject matter stray slightly.
I’d like to work on more illustrations like this – ones that might appeal to a different audience (not just children). This also reminds me of how much I miss painting. I blogged about some abstract artwork I did several years ago and I’ve been itching to break out the paints again. Sometimes I just need to get off the computer and back into the wonderfully rich textures and colours of REAL paint!

Really is a cute piece! You would not realize the meaning of this art at first look, it’s just like a pretty art for kids but realizing how this really means would make a much deeper impact for people who sees it.
