My Workspace

Published in: Uncategorized

I read a couple posts the other day where artists are showing photos of their work spaces. I thought this might be a fun idea seeing as I just set up a little play corner in my work space! Below you’ll see photos of my desk and computer where all the magic happens and a special little corner just for Isaac! Before Isaac, I had a small sectional next to my desk but I decided to remove it so he could play next to mommy while she works! I set up a few play mats and decorated the wall with Melissa Sweet alphabet cards. Melissa is an amazing children’s illustrator! Her cards are so sweet! You can check out her website here.

We’re going through a teething period at our household right now so not much is getting accomplished! The only thing that distracts him from his pain is the Jolly Jumper! Hopefully a tooth will pop through or his pain will subside! Hope you’re all doing well – thanks for stopping by :)

  4. Great idea to put a play area next to your work space. I’d love to get the padded tiles you have on the floor. Do you mind sharing where you got them?

  8. Amazing magic corner and workspace! Congrats! Love from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

  9. Very cool! I love it. Just wait a few mos, and you’ll find yourself pulling him away from the drawers and cords. lol!

Good luck getting through the teething. We’ve found that Hyland’s Teething Tablets are a godsend! They’re all natural, and seem to ease the fussiness.

  10. Thanks Rachelle! I just ordered one for our family room. We had the alphabet mat for our first child and I just didn’t like the look of it. The mat you have is going to look much better in our home. Thanks a million!

  11. Sarah – Thanks for the tip. I’m going to look into the tablets!

Carole – Great, I’m glad you like them!! Skip Hop has so much nice baby stuff :)

  12. He is so precious! What a cute space for him to hang out with mom. Great workspace, too.

  13. Oh my goodness – I have the same photo of my daughter in the exact manner from twenty years ago! They could be twins!! I got down on the mat as you did, took the photo – and its as if they are puzzled and saying: “what ARE you doing!” LOL!
He may become very “photo-savy” soon and will instantly pose when the camera pops out…he’s adorable!

Your space looks so fresh and inviting!

  14. Your son is so precious. What a great idea.
    He will love it there.

  15. I agree with the other comments. Adorable, beautiful son and wonderful work space. Think I’ll have to institute something similar to this. Too bad my office is so so small. I guess I could always take away my computer and get more work done! ha ha. Just kidding.

You are inspirational. Guess when my baby is born yours will be five months or six months old! Wow… eating solid food and getting into trouble. ;)

  16. Rachelle I have to tell you, as a teacher, my heart is warmed that you are already surrounding your son with the alphabet and things to learn from. I hope this inspires him through out his life.
