New Stamp Character… Introducing Abigail

Published in: Stamps

I celebrated 2 years of blogging last Saturday and can’t believe how my career has evolved since the beginning. Starting this blog has brought forth many new work opportunities, along with many new friends :) One of these work opportunities has been designing stamps. I’ve released a fair amount of designs in the past year and am so happy with their great success. Lily and Milo have been wonderfully welcomed into the stamping world.

This brings me to introducing you to a potential new stamp character – Abigail. She is older than Lily and Milo and brings a bit of style and sophistication to the table :) I am interested to hear your thoughts of her. What do you think of having an older character? What are some things you’d like to see her doing? I’m gearing up to work on a new collection so this is your chance to get your ideas out there!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by :)

COMMENTS

  1. Rachelle, Abigail looks adorable! I would love to see some stamps of her shopping and perhaps riding her bicycle outdoors :)

  2. She’s beautiful. Maybe she can be seen gardening, reading books, flying a kite, roller skating, walking a dog or cuddling with a cat or kitten?

  3. Welcome, Abigail! She’s a sweetheart!

  4. It’s always good to have more characters that can appeal to wider audience–she’s adorable and older girls will love her…

  5. She’s beautiful,welcome.!

  6. She is really beautiful.

  7. Oh Rachelle, she is gorgeous. Obviously if she were a stamp she could be coloured however we fancy, but I love the soft muted colours you have put her in they immediately give her an air of being older. I like some of the suggestions already raised here as to what she might be doing, but how about something with computers or computer games. Sadly, in my opinion, this is the age of social networking and a young lady of her age may well be keeping up with her friends on facebook or twitter, and she would, of course, have a mobile phone (cell phone) glued to her ear at almost all times!

  8. Great presents, LOL! Bye Mascha

  9. She is so cute! I would love to see her reading books, and maybe with a birthday crown on her head.

  10. I’m so happy you all like her :) Your suggestions are great!

Linda – I love your ideas of making her tech savvy! I can definitely picture her having coffee and checking her email on her laptop.

  11. superbe, bravo

  12. Abigail is fab I love her :) how about Abigail in a craftig studio drawing or making crafts?

    Xxx

  13. Rachelle – glad you liked my idea of the ‘tech savvy’ girl.

I also love Katy’s idea of a crafting Abigail. How appropriate.

    Lin

  14. Linda & Katy – I agree Katy’s idea is great too! It’s funny because my husband suggested the same thing… I should rope him into brainstorming ideas too :)

  15. Hi Rachelle, your designs are so wonderful. You have a very unique style. I adore little Abigail. I’m sure she will be welcomed to the stamping world with open arms. I’d like to see what you could do with a swimsuit/beach version. I also think little dancers are always sweet & fun. A “feeling yucky” or “sick in bed” Abigail can be cute too. The ideas are endless with such a sweet image.

  16. Very, very cute. =)

  17. I think she is absolutely fantastic!!!

  18. I don’t remember how I found your blog, but I’m sure glad I did. What a pleasure to read about your family and work!
I have recently been redesigning my office/studio, and I was inspired by your workspace area, as I have a Cintiq 21 as well. I totally redid my office while the boys were still in bed.

  19. Oooh, she’s so cute ! :D I like Amanda’s ideas : I see her doing shopping, or riding a bike. ;)

  20. Thanks for the additional comments/suggestions :)

Cheryl ALGER – I’m glad my workspace has inspired you! I am actually now at a phase where I’m revamping again because my little one isn’t so little anymore and needs more space to play. We are finishing our basement and setting up my office down there with a much bigger playroom! I’ll post some photos once it’s all said and done :)

  21. Oh, Abigail has to learn to quilt..please consider her quilting..with a sewing basket and maybe a puppy or kitten resting beside her. A patchwork quilt for lots of color. What do you think? Hugs, Deanna

  22. Deanna – what a great idea! I would love to draw a quilt with all my patterns and polka dots… it would fit in perfectly with my style.

  23. Abigail looks great! i can’t wait to see what else you will create in this new line of stamps!

  24. Love her – she’s adorable! My oldest daughter’s name is Abigail! Can give her a couple younger sisters named Amalia & baby Anna? giggle-giggle! Love the kitty! Love idea of her reading a book. Perhaps have her at school sitting at an old fashioned school desk or writing on a chalk board doing spelling or math. Playing a board game or putting together a puzzle would be cute. Have her bake cookies, or sewing on sewing machine. She can babysit, too! You are so talented – I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  25. Kelly from Arizona – I love your girls names – very cute :) Thanks for all the great suggestions!

  26. She is very cute, she reminds me of Coroline (movie) she also looks very stylish and i love the fact that she has a cat. i love cats. the only thing i would do different is to put boots on her, a stylish little boot that is. other than that she is perfect.

  27. She is adorable ! Love all the ideas, they are great. I think she also needs to have a swing on a tree to think about a new boyfriend, or getting caught in the rain with a cute umbrella, having lunch with a friend, or the loss of a pet or friend(so many at her age deal with.. I love the tech savvy, sick in bed, & crafting ideas above. But no matter what she does she will be great.
    Hugs,
    Julia

  28. I would love to see Abigail catching frogs and trying to kiss them to turn into a real prince! She’s adorable!!!!!! I don’t comment often, but I had to offer up this suggestion!! Hugs to you and congrats on the clocks and home decor, it does look totally fabulous!

  29. Thanks for all the additional suggestions! Love them! I really appreciate each and every comment and am going to attempt to incorporate all your ideas into my collection :)

  30. Nice to see a new character in your line. How about some fashion or shopping themes or could she be a little mischevious?? Perhaps making a mess in the kitchen or eating too much candy.
You are so talented and I love, love your sense of color style.
I look forward to see what you will come up with.
