I have just set my Etsy store to vacation mode for our overseas move over the next couple months. It feels a bit funny to be doing this again so soon! But you live and learn, eh? :)
I love having an Etsy store and wouldn’t likely open a store away from this community because many of my sales come directly from customers searching on the site. But if I ever do decide to open an independent online store, I would most definitely choose Shopify. This is a bit of a shameless self-promo for my hubby and our company: Out of the Sandbox :)
We’ve been designing some pretty amazing and beautiful templates for Shopify. In brief, Shopify is a company that provides everything you need to set up an online store. Now you get a chance to see some of my graphic design work! I’ve added a couple pictures of our most popular templates here but there are more on the Shopify site.
Ok so not too much more.. just wanted to share how proud I am of my hubby for all his hard work! Our template designs are some of the top-selling designs on the site and they are also some of the best reviewed in terms of design and customer support.
So if you’re thinking of opening an online store or already have one and want an easy way to revamp in a beautiful way, check out Out of the Sandbox themes for Shopify.

My littlest one loves dinosaurs. I think the love started from watching Peppa Pig and thoroughly enjoying Peppa’s little brother George’s ‘rroooaaarrr’ immediately following his favorite word, dinosaur.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ll notice a lot of the little girls in princess dresses have turned into boys in space and adventures with dinosaurs. I think this is inevitable when you’ve added two little boys to your life :)

Did you know that I have a few fabric designs available in select stores?
My wonderful agent connected me with some fabric designers/producers and we’ve been working together on releasing a number of designs over the past few months. My mom and I walked into a Spotlight store in Adelaide this past weekend and found my designs! I was very excited to see them in person. I’ve seen design proofs online, but nothing compares to seeing and feeling the real thing! In the US, you can buy my fabrics from Hancock Fabrics and Jo Ann Fabric and Craft Stores. You can order the Land of Whimzie ABC collection online. Has anyone made anything with my fabric? I’d love to see a photo!
Oh and a little news… I’m designing stamps again! Stay tuned for more updates :)

It’s been on my to-do list to release this series in colour. I did the originals in a very muted neutral palette which I love, but they also works very well in these soft pastel colours. This new release is available in my Etsy store. Don’t forget to shop now while everything is 50% off!

I’m continuing to play a bit with texture and backgrounds. Ultimately, I think I prefer simplistic backgrounds but it’s always fun to try new things. I enjoy how much more you can capture a mood with a full background. What do you think?
