Animal Greeting Set by Miriam

Hi friends, I hope you’re all having a fantastic week. I am back with day four of the new August release for RAM Stamps. Today I have an interactive card for you featuring all of the new digital stamps. Interactive cards are great fun and allow you to really use your imagination. They can take a little bit longer than usual, but well worth it. So let’s get started on today’s card.

I started off by creating a card base that measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches, I used MFT Stamps Ripe Raspberry cardstock. I then added a panel of white 80lb Neenah cardstock, trimmed to be slightly smaller, Finally a panel of MFT Stamps Pretty in Plaid printed paper, die cut with the MFT Stitched Rectangle Die-Namics.

Moving on to the interactive part of the card. I am using the Flippin’ Awesome die from Lawn Fawn. I have die cut the main structure of the interactive piece in white cardstock. I use 80lb to that it’s easy to fold without tearing. I then die cut four of the largest squares in white cardstock and one rectangle to fit on the last section. (There isn’t a die for this piece, so you will need to measure it). I then die cut three more of the squares using coloured and patterned paper.

I lined up the for whites squares and the rectangle together ( holding in place with temporary tape) and ink blended a sky and stencilled in the grass. For this I have used Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks. It really helps to take the time to line up the small panels, so that the ink blending follows in order as you open the card. I glued the extra coloured die cuts to back of three of the sqaures.

I resized the images and printed them. They were all coloured with Copic markers and once completely dry, I added white gel pen. The images were then fussy cut. I added a sentiment to the square that we going to on the front and also to the rectangle piece at the end. I glued the images in place on all of the different squares – making sure only to use glue and no foam tape.

Going back to the main die cut piece, using a bone folder score all of the lines. To assemble the mechanism hold the die cut piece with the pull tab to the right hand side. Fold the piece in half so that the two side pieces are near the pull tab. Fold over the side pieces and glue them to the base. Once the glue is dry, you will be able to move the mechanism and test that it’s working.

Once it’s all working and dry, you can glue the squares into place, gluing them into the folds, one by one. It’s easier to work from the right hand side to the left, allowing each piece to dry before adding the next – if you’re using liquid glue. Once everything is in place and dry, test the mechanism again to ensure everything is sliding through properly. Then die cut the pull tab and all to the end of the die cut piece. I always die cut two tabs to make sure it’s extra strong.

Then this piece needs to be added to the card base. You need to add glue underneath where the little tabs are only, otherwise the panel won’t slide. You will think that it won’t hold – but it will. Just glue this section, ensure it’s in the place you want it and add a weight on top and leave it alone to dry and then it will work once it’s dry.

Finally, the card is complete. It’s a bit of a task getting it all done, but I found doing it once took a little while and then it was much faster after that. I recommend watching the Lawn Fawn youtube video to see it being done, it will help.

I hope you love today’s card as much as I do. I’ll be back tomorrow with my fifth and final card for this weeks new release.

Thanks again for visiting….. xx
