Christmas Morning by Mona

Hi everyone! Rachelle Anne Miller is releasing two new stamps today, and they are perfect for Christmas cards! Today I am sharing a window card with one of the releases called Christmas Morning. This illustration is so sweet, and I am sure it’s the scene happening in many households on Christmas morning!

To make this card, I sized the image to fit into the Inverted Stitched Scallop Circles die from Pinkfresh Studio. I haven’t used this die in a while and thought it would be perfect to showcase the image. I printed it out onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, leaving enough space around the image, so it was bigger than the scalloped window.

Next, I printed the image again but this time onto masking paper. I fussy cut around the image to create a mask. Then, I adhered the mask over the image on the cardstock and lightly blended Distress Ink in Salvaged Patina over it.

I removed the mask and then colored the image with the following mix of Copic markers, Polychromos pencils, and Prismacolor pencils:

Copics:
Hair – E59, E57, E55, E50
Skin – E53, E51, E50
Cheeks – R20, R00
Blue/Greens – BG10
Red – R24

Faber-Castell Polychromos:
Blue/Greens – 158, 156, 154
Grey – 274, 273, 272, 271

Prismacolor:
Red – PC 924, PC 122, PC 926

When I finished the coloring, I cut two pieces of white cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″. Then, I laid the scalloped die down onto one of them, evenly spacing it from the top and sides. Next, I ran everything through my die-cutting machine. I stamped a sentiment from My Favorite Things Happy Pawlidays stamp set underneath the window. Then, I turned the cardstock, so the back was facing me and applied foam tape around the edges. Next, I took the other piece of white cardstock and glued my image onto it, ensuring it was properly spaced within the scalloped window. Then, I removed the paper from the foam tape and carefully placed it on top of the cardstock that had the image.

I finished the card by adding some Metallic Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh around the image.

Here is another window card I recently made featuring another stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller. You can also check out more examples on my Instagram!

Thanks so much for stopping by! – Mona
