Hi everyone! In this card I combined the Easter Eggs digital stamp with elements from the Hoppy Easter scene creator of Rachelle Anne Miller. As you can see, today I was in the mood for pink and purple tones! As I didn’t have pattern paper that matched with the color scheme of the card, I created my own with cardstock strips.
First I printed the created digi scene on Perfect Colouring paper. If you would like to know how I resize digital stamps and create scenes, you can watch this video on my YouTube channel. After printing, I colored the image with my Copic markers.
- Bunny: E43, E42, E41, E50, R20, R30, R000
- Chicks: YR24, YR21, YR20, YR000, Y000, R20, R30
- Pinks: R22, R20, R30, R000
- Purples: V15, V12, V000
- Oranges: YR21, YR20, YR000
- Yellow: Y13, Y11, Y000
- Greens: YG13, G20
- Sign: E44, E43, E42, E41, E50
On the cheeks of the critters, I added a white dot with a gel pen. I think this makes them look even cuter! After coloring, I die cut the scene with Large Mini Slimline Stackables. The sentiment on the card is from the A Very Sweet Somebunny stamp set.
My original idea was to use pattern paper on the cardbase, but I was faced with two challenges: I didn’t have matching pattern paper, plus I required a measurement of 6.5″ by 3.5″, and the pattern papers I have only go up to 6″. So I decided to create my own.
In my stash I checked for matching colored cardstock, and found the following ones from MFT: Princess Pink, Cotton Candy, and Grapesicle. From this cardstock I created strips in various sizes. On a piece of printer paper I put double sided adhesive, and started to adhere the strips creating a striped pattern. In between I also trimmed off excess paper, so I could use the leftovers as well. If you want to see this in action, Laura Bassen is queen of stripping it up, so I encourage you to check her out.
After my own pattern paper was done, I adhered it on the cardbase, and the easter scene I adhered on top with foam tape.
I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
