Hi everyone! With the Holiday Birds from the Christmastime release of Rachelle Anne Miller, I created this mini slimline card. These birds are so cute and funny, they make me smile. When I saw the birds, I imagined them being surrounded by pine needles. As it has been a while since I used my watercolors, I decided to watercolor the background.
Below you can find the process video, or you can watch it in HD on YouTube. If you like watching my videos, remember to like and subscribe. This truly helps to grow my channel!
First I printed the Holiday Birds on Perfect Colouring paper and colored it in with my Copic markers.
- Birds: E44, E43, E41, E50, R20, R30
- Beaks: YR24, E37
- Greens: YG17, YG63, YG61
- Reds: R24, R22
After coloring, I fussy cut them so I could adhere them later on to the background.
For the background, I watercolored the pine needles with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. After adhering the birds, I stamped the sentiment to where the birds are looking at. To frame the scene, I matted it with Ground Coffee cardstock. As a final touch, I added details with a white gel pen.
I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
