Penguin & Snowman: Sledding by Jayne

Hey guys! How are you? I’m sharing some inspiration today with RAM Stamp’s new release, which is another Christmas release – this time, filled with adorable snowmen and penguins!

I’ve used the “Penguin & Snowman: Sledding” stamp for my card. I used Transotype Perfect Coloring Paper to print my image on to (which is great for colouring with alcohol markers), and coloured it with Copics:

Penguin: BV29, BV25, BV23

Squirrel: E09, YR27, YR24

Snowman’s hat / scarf: R59, R29, R29, R24

Snowman: BG000, C1 / cheeks: R20 / nose: Y26, Y23

Sled: E29, E25, E23

Once I’d finished colouring, I added white gel pen highlights and fussy cut the image out with precision scissors.

For the background, I placed the MFT watercolor wash freeform stencil on my card panel, and used it to create an area within which to draw in my scene. I lightly drew a diagonal line toward the bottom for the ground. Above this, I used different shades of blue Copic markers (B97, B95, B93, B91) to create the sky, flicking the colour from the outside toward the middle, using more darker colours toward the top and lighter toward the bottom.

With the stencil still in place, I splattered some white Copic paint over the sky with a fan brush to make snow.

I used a pale blue (BG000) for the edge of the snowy ground and again, flicked the colour in from the outside. I also added some Quicky Glue along the top of the ground, and added some fine glitter.

To finish the card, I placed my Sledding Snowman on with foam tape and added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted, which I also popped on with foam tape. Finally, I matted the scene on to some Midnight cardstock.

I really love this card, it feels quite traditional in a way! Thanks for joining me again, and I’ll be back soon.
