Aussie Christmas by Miriam

Hi crafty friends and thanks again for stopping by my card corner. Do you love a new release day as much as me? Well if you do, you are going to love this one……. It’s RAM Stamps new release day and not only are there some fantastic Aussie Christmas images, there is also some of the most gorgeous patterned papers I’ve ever used. I love them so much and I am sure you will too. So let’s get started……

For day 1 off the new release I thought I would make a couple of gift tags. So to begin downloaded the Stars Patterned Paper and printed on my usual home printer. I didn’t need to adjust the colours – I found it printed perfectly. I also printed the Kangaroo Christmas Surprise stamp and Sweet Koala Christmas stamp.

I used the MFT Stamps Surprise Stitched Tag Die-namics. I die cut the largest tag in white 80lb cardstock and also in the Stars Patterned Paper, twice for both. I set aside the white pieces and then die cut a window on the patterned pieces using the smaller tag die. (Remember to keep the smaller pieces to use again later – you don’t want to waste this gorgeous paper).

I then moved on to colouring the images. I have used Copic markers and chose colours to match the Patterned Paper. For these images, I have used –

R85, 83, 81, 30, RV000, BG45, 23, 10, G05, 05, R29, E44, 43, 42, 41

Once the images were coloured, I die cut them using the largest tag die. I then ink blended a small amount of Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina ink from the bottom of the image, fading out to white. I then glued the “window” to the front of the images and the plain white tag pieces to the back. I then die cut the circle pieces to support the whole where the ribbon sits and glued them on front and back.

I have used a sentiment from the MFT Stamps Christmas Tree Farm stamp set. I stamped it using white pigment ink (my secret for perfect heat embossed sentiments!) and heat set white embossing powder. I trimmed the panels and added to the top of the tags with foam tape. Lastly I added some ribbon to complete today’s project.

I love how these turned out and I hope it might inspire you to get creative sometime soon. Don’t forget to head over to the RAM Stamps website to check out the whole release. I will be back again tomorrow with day 2 of the new release.

Thanks again for visiting xx
