Hi everyone! As nowadays you cannot have enough baby cards, I wanted to give you some inspiration for a design which you can easily use for a boy or girl baby card. As I get questions more often how I create my soft looking clouds, I decided to explain it in more detail in the video on YouTube. The cute image I’m featuring today, is called Little Pilot from Rachelle Anne Miller.

For the discount code, and some exciting news, keep reading!

Over on my YouTube channel there is a process video available in which I explain my method of creating the perfect soft clouds. The video also contains a lot of tips for Copic coloring. If you enjoy watching my videos, remember to like and subscribe.

When I plan to ink blend a background for my image, I always like to start with coloring the image first. This way I can really judge what Distress Oxide color will match best with the colored image. Up front, I don’t always know how exactly my colored image is going to turn out, so that is why I do it in this order.

The Copic colors I used are:

  • V17, V5, V12, V01, V000
  • R20, R30, R000
  • Y13, Y11, Y000
  • Bear: E33. E53, E51, E50, R20
  • Hat: E55, E53, E51, E50
  • Skin: E04, E13, E11, E00, R20
  • Shirt: YR24, Y18, Y13, Y11, Y000
  • Goggles: E37, E35

For this card I felt Distress Oxide Milled Lavender matched best with the colored Little Pilot. So I ink blended the clouds with a slimline cloud stencil and the Milled Lavender. In the video I explain how I get these soft looking clouds.

To finish off the card, I added a frame and sentiment, which I die cut from Textured Dot cardstock with the Gallery Frame #6 die from Hello Bluebird.
