Girl Whale by Jayne

Hey friends, how are you? Today, I’m stopping by to share a sweet little card I made for a friend of mine who recently had a baby girl. I thought this Girl Whale image from RAM Stamps was super sweet, and I wanted to colour it in a soft, dreamy way, so I decided to print the “no line” version and do some no-line Copic colouring.

After printing the image onto alcohol marker-friendly cardstock, I die cut it with my Pink & Main stitched rectangle dies to frame the image. I then coloured it with the following Copic markers:

Whale: V99, V95, V93, V01 (belly)

Sea: B39, B37, B34, B32

Girl (dress and flower): BV08, BV04, BV02

Girl (skin): E13, E11, E000

Girl (hair): E27, E25, E23

I then masked off the top half of the image, and ink blended in the sky using milled lavender, shaded lilac and dusty concord distress oxides. I added white gel pen highlights to the image and the stars.

To finish, I added a sentiment from Colorado Craft Company’s New Baby stamp set (by Anita Jeram).

I hope you like the no-line look – what do you think? Hope to see you back here again soon!
