Sweet Koala Christmas by Jayne

Hey guys, how are you? Yesterday on Instagram, I posted this easel card I made using the Sweet Koala Christmas stamp from the new RAM Stamps release, so I thought I’d pop on with a quick tutorial on how to make your own easel card (it’s easier than you might think).

1. Take a top-folding A2 card base, and score horizontally across the front, half way down (ie, at 2.75″).

2. Fold along the score line.

3. Cut two pieces of patterned paper 4 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ and adhere them above and below the score line using tape runner.

4. Cut three or four slim (about 1/4″) strips of card and glue them together, stacked one atop of the other. Once adhered, glue this to the inside of the card, horizontally, about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom.

This has now formed the basics of your easel card! When you fold the front, you can tuck it in behind the little ledge we’ve just added to the inside, to keep it upright. Not sure what I mean? See here:

Now, you can just decorate the card as you choose! Make sure that you only adhere things above or below your score line and not across it, or it won’t be able to bend!

For mine, I used:

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial, and I’ll hopefully see you again soon!
