The adorable December release from RAM stamps is now available, and since I love everything deer it should come as no surprise that I colored up the Holly Jolly Elf. I even flipped it and colored it twice.
As you can see, Santa's elves are readying Rudolph and the rest of the reindeer for a busy night of delivering presents. Santa is from Woodland Santa and I doubled and flipped this image too, to balance the scene with one more tree. I did have to cover up the fox on the flipped image, no biggie. Here are a couple of close-ups.
I went to town and colored the whole scene with my Copic markers:
E47, E44, E43, E42 + E79, E77, E74, E71 (deer)
E04, E11, E00, E000 + R32
R89, R85, R83, R81
G46, G43, YG61
E23, E55, E53 (shoes)
E51, E55 (hair)
100, C7, C5
Y26, Y28 (buckle + reins)
W3, W1 (white)
E42, E41 (beard)
E41, E42, E43, E44 (burlap sack)
C3, C1, RV02 (critters)
BG78, BG57, G46 (trees)
BG10, BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78 (background)
I added gold details with a gelly roll pen and snow with an acrylic paint marker. I didn't plan for snow in this scene, but I forgot to edit out the snow in the Woodland Santa image. But I actually quite like the snow. It's a bit intimidating to add snow once you've finished a panel, especially these big dots. How do you feel about adding "snow" over a colored image?
Don't forget to hop over to the website to check out the new release as well as all the inspiration from the team. You won't regret it.
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy your Christmas crafting!
