Hello friends! Today I am sharing a clean and simple card featuring the sweet illustration My Pet Dinosaur from Rachelle Anne Miller. When my son was young, he loved dinosaurs so much! He would sit for hours reading books on them with such fascination. So as soon as I saw this image, I knew I wanted to make a card with it! I am sure he would have loved having his very own pet dinosaur!
Printing and Coloring
I haven’t made a card using craft card stock and colored pencils in a long time, so I thought it would be fun to do that for this card. I sized my image and printed it out onto Neenah Dessert Storm cardstock. Next, I positioned Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables die over the image and ran it through my die-cutting machine. Then I used the following Prismacolor pencils to color the image:
Dinosaur: PC 105, PC 905, PC 992, PC 938
Grass: PC 912, PC 989, PC 1004
Boy clothes: PC 1003, PC 916, PC 915, PC 1011(Yellow); PC 901, PC 1102 (Blue)
Skin: PC 1082, PC 140, PC 914, PC 929, PC 928
Hair: PC 1082, PC 997
Finishing Card
I stamped a sentiment from My Favorite Things Cutieasaurus stamp under the image. Next, I used Waffle Flower’s A2 Layers die to cut a rectangle from patterned card stock. I glued the craft card stock panel on top and attached everything to an A2 size card base to finish the card.
I had a lot of fun using my Prismacolor pencils to color this adorable image, and I hope I inspired you to do the same! Thanks so much for stopping by! – Mona
