Penguin Chill by Jayne

I don’t know about you, but it’s suddenly gotten pretty cold where I live! So, I felt very at home colouring up these two little penguin pals on their patch of ice!

I chose to print out the Penguin Chill stamp in the “no line” option that you get whenever you download an image from RAM Stamps, and do a little no-line colouring with my Copics.

But before I started colouring, I masked off my penguins using some masking paper (I just placed it over the image, traced onto the paper, and fussy cut). I then placed my watercolor wash stencil over the image, and ink blended the sky in blue ink (I used speckled egg, faded jeans and blueprint sketch distress oxides).

After removing the stencil and masking paper, I then coloured my image with the following Copic markers:

Penguins: BC29, BV25, BV23

Heart: RV17, RV14, RV13

Beaks and feet: Y17, Y15

Ice: BG000, B00

I added highlights with a white gel pen, and also picked out the details of the snowflakes and hearts on the stamp with the same gel pen.

My sentiment came from the MFT Stamps set BB Warmest Wishes. I stamped it with Versafine Onyx black ink (my favourite black ink for crisp stamping), then ran the panel through my die-cutting machine with the stitched rectangle dies from Pink & Main, to give it a nice, stitched edge.

I used tape runner to adhere the panel to an A2 white card base, and that was me done for today!

I hope this inspires you, and if it does, I’d love to see what you create. Until next time…!
