Penguin & Snowman: Christmas Gifts by Miriam

Hi crafty friends, thanks for stopping by my little card corner – I really appreciate it. I am back today and excited to be showing you all another amazing release from RAM Stamps. This month it’s all about snowmen, penguins and Christmas, I am not sure if there is a better combination. This release is absolutely adorable, I am sure you will love it as much as I do. For my first card for this release I will be featuring the Snowman & Penguin: Christmas Gifts stamp. So let’s get started.

I started off the card by getting all of the panels ready. I created a top folding card base that measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches using 110lb white cardstock. I then trimmed some My Favorite Things Summer Splash cardstock to measure slightly smaller and glued them together. I then die cut some 80lb white cardstock using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things.

On this white panel I ink blended three Distress Oxide inks – Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry, blending them together and fading to white towards the bottom of the panel. I then splattered white gouache that had been slightly diluted with water all over the panel. I set this aside to dry and moved on to the image.

I printed the digital image onto 80lb white cardstock using my Canon Pixma printer. I coloured the image using Copic markers, added white gel pen highlights and fussy cut. For this image I have used the following Copic combinations –

R85, 83, 81, 30, C9, 7, 5, YR07, 04, BG15, 23, 01, E44, 43, 42, 41, Y000.

I then ink blended some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink onto a piece of white cardstock. I die cut the Big Oh So Jolly die from Mama Elephant, laying the die half way over the colour, so that the die cut would have an ombre effect. I die cut the sentiment again in white and glued the two together and them adhere to the panel.

To complete the card, I added the image to the panel using foam tape and then adhered the panel to the card base. That completes the card for today. I hope you love this card and will come back tomorrow for another card featuring another digital image from this month’s release.

Thanks again for visiting…. xx
