Woodland Snowman by Miriam

Hi crafty friends and thanks for stopping by once again, I really appreciate it. Today I am so pleased to be back with another design team post for RAM Stamps and I am going back into Christmas card mode. For today’s card I am using the super sweet Woodland Snowman stamp, I don’t think it gets any more adorable than this!!! Have you started making your Christmas cards yet – or is it just me?

So I started todays card by creating the card base. Firstly I die cut some Ripe Raspberry cardstock from My Favorite Things using the Arches Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant. As the arch is just one layer, I made a mini card base that measures 4 x 3.75 inches, this was glued to the back of the arch. It provides a stand and also somewhere to write a personal message.

I then printed out the Woodland Snowman digital image onto 80lb Neenah cardstock. I use my normal, everyday Canon Pixma printer and ink for this. I coloured the image using Copic markers and then added white gel pen highlights. For this card I used the following colours –

R85, R83, R81, BG49, BG15, BG10, YG03, E44, E43, E42, E41, C4, C2, C0, B01, B00, B000, E21, E50, R30, RV02, RV00, RV000, RV0000.

Once all of the colouring was completed, I added in the background colours, blending the four colours until the darkest was at the top. I then went over the whole background with a Copic 0 blender to soften the colours.

I then die cut the image using a smaller arch die and splatter white gouache paint to create a snow scene. For the sentiment I die cut the falala die from the Hello Bluebird Word Die 1 set four times and glued them together. Once they were dry I added the sentiment to the panel and glued the panel to the base.

That competes the card for today. I hope you love the card as much as I do and will be inspired to get started on your Christmas cards soon.

Thanks again for visiting xx

Dsiclosure – as a Design Team member for RAM Stamps I have receives the stamps used in this post free of charge. All other products used were purchased by myself.
